About Singapore:

A country made of a beautiful blend of cultures that are yet purely and uniquely Singaporean.

Immaculately clean city with multi-floor mega malls, night safari, modern infrastructure and attractions but all the while honoring the cultures and religions of its people in between it all. Take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city at Sentosa Island or at the lavish Marina Bay Sands and Gardens by the bay. As a foodie haven, Singapore is home to several Michelin Starred restaurants and expansive hawker food centers expertly serving a wide range of cultural eats.

Why Visit Singapore:

Foodies Unite!!! Not a foodie you will be after this trip! Excellent options in all price ranges that will impress even the pickiest of eaters. In between the eating 🙂 there are numerous attractions to keep travelers of all ages occupied. Singapore is a major hub of Asia, an excellent starting point for your future exploration of Asia with daily flights to almost everywhere. Also, English (along with Malay, Tamil and Mandarin) is one of the national languages of the country especially helpful for those accustomed to alphanumeric characters.

My Favorite Experience:

Ending my trip swimming at the rooftop pool at Marina Bay Sands overlooking the city is one of my favorite experiences but a bit typical. However, the Singapore National Museum, my first museum experience in Asia. I learned an entirely new perspective on the history of southeast Asia often unspoken of in the West. Followed by a tea appreciation session at Yixing Xuan Teahouse was an ultimate and unique experience.

Location Highlights:

  • Mega-Malls
  • Gardens by the bay
  • Tea Tasting and Tea Ceremony
  • Sentosa Island
  • Detailed art of Buddist and Hindu temples
  • Excellent Food Scene
  • Singapore Zoo and Night Safari
  • The Great Singapore Sale
  • The Airport (Yes Seriously the Airport is a destination within itself)

Key Tip:

Only 17 miles long (North to South) you can quickly traverse the Country and experience key attractions in a short amount of time. Singapore is also a great starting point to visit other countries in the area like Malaysia or Indonesia.

Money Saving Tip:

The public transit system in Singapore is clean, efficient and easy to navigate.

Definitely check out the food courts at various stops within the system for delicious cheap eats and save even more at the Hawker food Centers (there’s even a Michelin Star Stand at one)
